Emma Jean Gwin, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012. She was born August 27, 1927 to the late Daniel Harkey and Callie Mae Allen Harkey Fortson. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Emma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and very devoted to her family. She loved caring for the children of her family.
She is preceded in death by her brother, D.L. Harkey, sister-in-law, Rena Harkey and brother – in –law, Charles Barnard.
She is survived by her husband, William L. Gwin and children, Diana (Robert) Anthony of Conway, Kenneth (Paula) Gwin of Jacksonville and Sheila (Steven) Johnson of Clear Spring, Maryland ; grandchildren, Justin Gwin, Kasey Gwin, Simon Anthony, Molly Johnson and Zachary Johnson; sister, Annabelle Barnard, brothers, Henry (Joann) Harkey and James Larry (Betty) Harkey and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. until service time.
